I am passionate about helping a wide range of people achieve optimal health through exercise and nutrition. That's why I've taken the initiative to develop well-rounded training skills that draw from the principles of resistance training, cardiovascular fitness, Pilates and Yoga.
For the last 23 years, I've helped seniors avoid surgeries by incorporating appropriate exercises into their routines. I've enjoyed guiding middle-aged women and men to improve their exercise and eating habits, which helped them reverse the progress of high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes and obesity. I've also taken great pleasure in working with athletes at all levels, helping them enhance speed, strength, endurance and flexibility through muscle activation.
I'll help you work toward your goals during each of our one-hour sessions together. More than that, I'll teach you skills you can use to keep up the momentum the other 23 hours of the day, empowering you to sustain your progress for the rest of your life.
Muscle activation is a manual therapy that follows my evaluation of an individual’s ability to produce efficient muscle contraction. Loss of muscle contraction results in decreased range of motion and, therefore, decreased physical performance. The goal of muscle activation is to get the correct muscle to fire, thereby increasing muscle contraction and performance.
When practiced consistently, Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance throughout the entire body. It emphasizes body alignment, breathing, core development, and improvements in coordination and balance.
Yoga is the path to Enlightenment and a way of Life. I am neither Enlightened nor live the way of Life. I am a student of Yoga and I use Yoga Asanas for improved physical strength, balance and flexibility, and utilize Yogic Breathing to improve cardiovascular function and stress management.
This technique, good old pumping iron, improves joint function and bone density, as well as strengthen muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Depending on your specific goal, I combine the methods above (and more) to keep your workouts both productive and fun.
